WELCOME TO HOLY INNOCENTS!

Greetings and may God’s blessings be upon you!

We are proud to announce that our beloved Holy Innocents just celebrated its 100th anniversary  this past year.

Holy Innocents Church has served Prospect Park South and the surrounding communities in Flatbush for 10 decades. Not only does Holy Innocents have a long and colorful history, today, our parish can boast of a rich cultural diversity.

Our Church, has gained the respect of both the public and Catholic community as a trailblazer with respect to restoring it’s historic EM Skinner pipe organ, with its successful application to a specific grant program in Bryn Mawr, PA, and its awarding of the grant from the Joseph G, Bradley Charitable Foundation in Bryn Mawr, PA.

Holy Innocents has also been awarded membership in the National Historic Registry.  The Roman Catholic Parish of the Holy Innocents is breaking new ground with the award.  Holy Innocents has been specifically named as the “test case” in the Diocese of Brooklyn for listing in the registry.   According to an article published October 16, 2004 in The Tablet, Holy Innocents has been recognized as the first Catholic Church in the 150-year history in the diocese to be singled out by the Bishop of Brooklyn/Queens in the City of New York to apply for and obtain this prestigious classification.

Current Project (Work In Progress Pictures)

Our first project is the restoration of the church building.(Work that is done Pictures)

A fair amount of restorative work is been done; the copper roof, which has been completed, the masonry, the murals, the stain glass windows, and the pews, all require restoration.

Please visit  www.educationthroughrenovation.com for details concerning how Holy
Innocents has become the test site for the bringing together of skilled craftsmen and
premier educational institutions.
